qualified Med/Surg RN in Odessa, Texas, 79760 Pay Information
$1,724 per week About The Position The Registered Nurse (RN) in the
Med-Surg unit is responsible for providing direct patient care in a
fast-paced environment, assisting with the recovery of patients who
require medical and surgical interventions. The RN will work
collaboratively with the healthcare team to deliver high-quality,
compassionate care to patients across a variety of diagnoses and
procedures, ensuring patient safety, comfort, and well-being during
their hospital stay. \n\n Key Responsibilities: \n \n \n Patient
Assessment: \n \n Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients---
physical, emotional, and psychological needs.\n Develop, implement,
and evaluate individualized care plans based on patient assessment
and physician orders.\n \n\n \n Patient Care: \n \n Administer
medications, treatments, and interventions as prescribed, ensuring
patient safety and adherence to medical protocols.\n Monitor
patient vital signs, lab results, and clinical progress, making
necessary adjustments to care plans.\n Assist with activities of
daily living (ADLs), including mobility, hygiene, and nutrition.\n
Provide pre- and post-operative care and educate patients on
procedures, medication, and recovery plans.\n \n\n \n
Collaboration: \n \n Work closely with physicians, nurse
practitioners, and other healthcare providers to coordinate care
and ensure positive patient outcomes.\n Communicate effectively
with patients, families, and the healthcare team regarding the plan
of care and any changes in condition.\n \n\n \n Patient Education:
\n \n Educate patients and their families about their conditions,
treatment options, and discharge plans.\n Provide instructions on
medication management, lifestyle changes, and follow-up care.\n
\n\n \n Documentation: \n \n Accurately document patient
assessments, interventions, progress, and outcomes in the medical
record.\n Ensure compliance with hospital policies, standards, and
regulatory requirements.\n \n\n \n Safety & Infection Control: \n
\n Adhere to infection control and safety protocols to prevent
hospital-acquired infections and ensure a safe environment.\n
Respond quickly to changes in patient conditions, such as
emergencies or complications.\n \n\n \n Supervision & Mentorship
(if applicable): \n \n Assist in mentoring new staff or nursing
students and provide guidance as needed.\n Serve as a resource for
junior nursing staff in clinical decision-making.\n \n\n
